Meteorite Watches

A Piece of the Cosmos on Your Wrist

In 1906 in the far north of Sweden, not far from the border with Finland, a group of children once stumbled upon a heavy, metallic stone while playing near the village of Kitkiöjärvi. What they found was no ordinary rock. It was a fragment of the Muonionalusta meteorite, one of the oldest known objects on Earth - estimated to be over 4 billion years old.

Found on Earth. Formed in Space.

The Muonionalusta meteorite originated deep in space, likely as part of a planetary core that existed long before our own solar system fully formed. After drifting through space for billions of years, it entered Earth’s atmosphere and shattered upon impact - its pieces scattering across a wide area of the Arctic tundra. The first recorded find was in 1906, and since then, about 40 fragments have been documented.

These fragments, now carefully cut and preserved, reveal something rare: the Widmanstätten pattern. This intricate structure of iron and nickel crystals is formed during an extremely slow cooling process in space - something that cannot be replicated on Earth. It’s a texture that tells the story of time on a cosmic scale.

From Meteorite to Watch Dial

Once unearthed and carefully selected, thin slices of the

meteorite are meticulously cut into dials. No two are the same. Each carries its own version of the Widmanstätten structure - some bold, some subtle, all shaped by millions of years of motion and silence.

No coating. No print. No imitation. Every Henry Archer meteorite dial starts as a solid piece of actual meteorite stone.

We incorporate these rare dials into several of our collections.

A Quiet Reminder of Deep Time

There’s something humbling about checking the time on a meteorite dial. It invites reflection. Not just on minutes or hours, but on the vast scale of time that came before us. These dials existed long before cities, countries, or even oceans. They were shaped by space itself - cold, silent, endless - and now they sit on your wrist, measuring each passing second.

It’s not a claim to eternity. Just a quiet acknowledgment of it.
